Ziggeo’s Data Day: Longer Time Spent on Recording Process Yields Best Results

According to Ziggeo’s data (see chart at end of this post), candidates who spend the longest time on their recorded interviews – measured from the moment they start their applications by providing their names and email addresses until the moment they submit their final recordings to employers – tend receive the highest ratings.  Our data also suggests that the shorter the time spent on the recorded interview, the lower the rating.

One exception is that candidates with the very lowest ratings (1 on a scale of 1-5) spend more time than those who received a slightly higher rating (2 on the scale). This may be because the lowest rated candidates may have started their recorded interviews, given up, waited, and started again.

One conclusion to be drawn from our data is: just as a well-polished resume probably makes a better impression on an employer than a slap-dash job, so do well-thought out answers to interview questions.

In short – SURPRISE! – practice makes perfect.
