This post was written by Susan Danziger, Founder and CEO of Ziggeo; it was originally published on her blog on September 21st. What kind of company should you start? Here’s my startup formula:
- Recognize your own problem
- Figure you’re not alone — others must have the same problem.
- Solve the problem for yourself — then solve it for the world.
That’s the formula I used to start a number of my companies. Here’s how it applies to Ziggeo:
- My problem: we had to build from scratch a video recorder/player for a platform we were building — a painful and complex process;
- We couldn’t be alone; any company needing a video system — at least a solid one — had to build it from scratch;
- We built the technology for ourselves — then launched it as an API/SDK so other platforms could use it as well.
How does this startup formula apply to your world?
