Scaling Real-World High-Performance Web-Based Applications

Scaling real-world high-performance applications poses great difficulties on the technical infrastructure as well as on the architecture of distributed applications. We discuss how to architect and structure a high-performance web video application by distributing the computational requirements across loosely-coupled microservices and by reducing bottlenecks through the use of independent edge computational resources and sharding NoSQL database systems.
