How many re-recordings before it is perfect?
When recording a video there is bound to be something that is not quite right. Maybe everything was perfect and cat came to you and jumped into your lap. Regardless of the case you might be tempted to do a re-recording. However should you? This is something we want to explore with you as part of series where we guide you into looking like a pro in a video.
Should I make a re-recording?
When this is available, you might benefit from the same. Re-recordings are designed to offer you a chance to redo your mistakes. As such it is quite a valuable feature to have at your disposal.
You should know that in many cases the person that set up the recorder would know how many times you made a re-recording. This is also true with Ziggeo's recorder. In the video data that is captured with video we also save the number of re-recordings that were made.
This is important for some use cases and it might be important for you. So make sure that you use this yet not do too many of them.
How many is too many?
This would really depend. If you are doing a video where attention to detail plays a huge part, doing more re-recordings to be spot on makes a lot of sense.
In most other cases, this is something that might be considered as your character - as if you are unsure in yourself. So a suggestion would be to consider if you really need to make a new recording. Maybe the one you already have is practically perfect.
Things to keep in mind
When someone records themselves the first time and has a list available, had practiced, and done everything else we talked about through this series, they most often record practically perfect video. Every time you are doing a re-recording you are likely going to think about the mistake you made which could lead to new mistakes in another area.
In most cases however once you make a redo, you completely loose the original recording.
