Treating Candidates Respectfully in a Pre-Recorded Video Interview
Making the interview process easy and seamless for candidates in video interviews is a clear sign that the employer respects and cares about them.
Here’s how we at Ziggeo let you, the interviewer, show respect:
- You don’t make candidates jump through any hoops to set up the interview such as by having to open up a special new account with Ziggeo or anyone else.
- You tell candidates that all they need to start the interview is to clink on a simple link that you will send them.
- You reassure them they do not need to install any additional software (such as Skype, for example) to take videos of themselves.
Showing respect for candidates – including those who don’t get the job – is important for the employer’s reputation, especially considering that word of mouth (assisted by social media) will quickly spread about how you treated (or mistreated) interviewees. And reputation is everything.
This is why, in a live interview, smart employers show courtesy to candidates, such as by starting the interview on time, not taking phone calls during the interview, and giving them a warm handshake.
Recorded video interviews are, in essence, no different. Making the process easy for candidates is the high-tech equivalent of a warm handshake.—
Ziggeo lets you quickly and easily pre-screen candidates by watching their videos. Candidates simply record short videos of themselves for your own private viewing.
